POWERUP UPSYSTEM MAX | CONTAINERIZED HYDROGEN FUEL CELL SYSTEM

PowerUP UPSystem MAX | Containerized Hydrogen Fuel Cell System is a BTO or Built-to-Order energy system, custom-designed and manufactured according to customer requirements. It is a containerized, modular complete solution that can be individually equipped with fuel cells, battery storage systems, hydrogen storage, and optionally electrolyzers. This allows the system to be precisely tailored to the specific power needs, degree of autonomy, and location of use.

At its core, the UPSystem MAX is based on PEM fuel cell technology, which generates electrical energy emissions-free from hydrogen. Additionally, battery systems can be integrated to handle peak loads, buffer starting currents, and ensure uninterruptible power supply. This hybrid architecture significantly increases both the efficiency and operational safety of the overall system.

Depending on customer requirements, the system can be equipped with hydrogen storage with varying capacities and pressure levels to enable long runtimes or fully off-grid operating modes. For maximum autonomy, electrolyzers can also be integrated, generating hydrogen directly on-site from water and electrical energy – such as from photovoltaics or wind power. This creates a closed, locally emissions-free energy cycle.

The containerized design allows for a robust, transportable, and quickly deployable solution that is suitable for both temporary applications and permanent installations. Interfaces for remote monitoring, remote control, and energy management are an integral part and enable intelligent control of all energy flows between the battery, fuel cell, electrolyzer, and external consumers.

With the ET approach, the UPSystem MAX is particularly suitable for critical infrastructures, industrial applications, telecommunications, disaster relief, military and security-relevant operations, as well as off-grid locations where standard solutions are insufficient. In conjunction with green hydrogen and renewable energy sources, the system enables a highly sustainable, scalable, and future-proof energy supply, precisely tailored to the customer’s requirements.

Key Features

  • No CO2 emissions – clean and climate-neutral electricity
  • Silent and odorless – low noise development and scent-free
  • Plug & Play – easy, quick commissioning
  • Minimal maintenance effort – very low service requirements
  • Increased safety – reliable power supply for critical applications

POWERUP UPSYSTEM MAX - TECHNOLOGY AND BENEFITS AT A GLANCE

  • Quiet: barely audible, ideal for sensitive environments
  • Emission-free: no CO₂, NOx, or particulate emissions
  • High efficiency: 45–60% (depending on model/operation)
  • Maintenance-free: no moving parts, no oil changes
  • Ready to use: no warm-up times
  • Safe: CE/ISO certified, no open flames
  • Sustainable: 100% climate-neutral with green hydrogen
  • Scalable: multiple units can be combined in parallel

POWERUP UPSYSTEM MAX - COMBINATION WITH BATTERY SYSTEMS

Some PowerUP systems can optionally be equipped with battery storage. This combination creates a hybrid energy system that not only utilizes hydrogen but can also store and intelligently supply electrical energy.

Thus, the systems can be flexibly used as a backup or UPS solution – for example, during power outages, in critical infrastructures, or in off-grid locations. Additionally, the battery systems can smooth out peak loads and high inrush currents, allowing connected consumers to operate more efficiently and stably. The result is a reliable, emissions-free, and intelligent energy supply that can expertly handle both short-term load fluctuations and longer power outages. PowerUP – energy independence through the combination of hydrogen and battery.

POWERUP UPSYSTEM MAX - SMART REMOTE MONITORING

PowerUP offers a cloud-based solution for monitoring and remote control, enabling users to access their systems anytime and from anywhere.

Through a secure 4G/5G connection, operational data is transmitted to the cloud in real-time – while authorized users can remotely control and adjust system parameters. This allows for starting and stopping operations, performance adjustments, or diagnostic functions to be carried out online directly, without the need for technical personnel on-site.

The integrated cloud portal allows for:

  • Real-time monitoring of performance data, operational states, and hydrogen consumption,
  • Remote control of central functions and parameters,
  • Logging and analysis of all operational and system events,
  • Predictive maintenance through automatic notifications and data analysis.

This intelligent networking enhances operational safety, efficiency, and responsiveness – making PowerUP systems ideal for decentralized applications where mobility and reliability are critical. PowerUP Cloud Control – monitor, control, and optimize – anywhere and anytime.

POWERUP UPSYSTEM MAX - GAS AND LEAK MONITORING FOR MAXIMUM SAFETY

Some PowerUP systems can optionally be equipped with gas and leak monitoring. This sensor technology continuously monitors the operating range of the system and detects even the smallest hydrogen leaks or gas leakages at an early stage.

In the event of an anomaly, a warning message is automatically triggered – either locally via acoustic and visual signals or remotely via cloud connectivity. This allows the system to be quickly and safely shut down in critical situations to protect people, equipment, and the environment.

The combination of precise sensors, automatic alarm notifications, and cloud-based access ensures maximum safety – both in stationary operations and mobile applications. PowerUP – integrated safety, guaranteed trust.
