The 3000W PowerUP UPSystem 3K is a compact, rack-mounted power supply system based on the latest hydrogen fuel cell technology. It provides reliable, emission-free and silent energy wherever grid power is absent or disrupted.

The system is ideally suited as a standalone emergency power supply (UPS) or as a permanent energy source for critical applications in industry, research, telecommunications, or defense. Thanks to its modular architecture, the UPSystem 3K combines a 3 kW fuel cell generator, an integrated battery, and an intelligent safety and monitoring system (UP Safe & IoT) into a fully integrated energy solution.

POWERUP UPSYSTEM 3K – WHAT IS A UPS, AND WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?

UPS stands for Uninterruptible Power Supply – in English Uninterruptible Power Supply UPS. A UPS ensures that electrical devices continue to function without interruption even during a power outage or voltage drop.

For the PowerUP UPSystem 3K, this means: If the mains power fails or fluctuates, the built-in battery automatically takes over the power supply within milliseconds. At the same time, the hydrogen fuel cell generator can start to ensure continuous energy supply – without downtime, without rebooting, without data loss.

Why this is important
An uninterruptible power supply protects:

  • critical systems – including servers, communication, and security systems
  • ongoing processes – such as measurement, control, and regulation technology
  • sensitive electronics – like IT or medical devices

Through a secure 4G/5G connection, operational data is transmitted to the cloud in real-time – while authorized users can remotely control and adjust system parameters. This allows for starting and stopping operations, performance adjustments, or diagnostic functions to be carried out online without the need for technical personnel on-site.

The integrated cloud portal allows for:

  • Real-time monitoring of performance data, operational states, and hydrogen consumption,
  • Remote control of central functions and parameters,
  • Logging and analysis of all operational and system events,
  • Predictive maintenance through automatic notifications and data analysis.

POWERUP UPSYSTEM 3K – GAS AND LEAK MONITORING FOR MAXIMUM SAFETY

Some PowerUP systems can optionally be equipped with gas and leak monitoring. This sensor technology continuously monitors the operating range of the system and detection of even the smallest hydrogen leaks or gas leakages at an early stage.

In the event of an anomaly, an automatic alert is triggered – either locally via acoustic and visual signals or remotely via cloud connectivity. This allows the system to be quickly and safely shut down in case of emergencies, protecting people, equipment, and the environment.

POWERUP UPSYSTEM 3K – INTEGRATED BATTERY AND EMERGENCY POWER ACTIVATOR – UNINTERRUPTED POWER

The UPSystem3K is equipped with a powerful integrated lithium-ion battery (5 kWh / 100 Ah) that serves as the central energy storage. It not only provides the starting energy for operation but also automatically takes over the emergency power supply (UPS function) during interruptions – completely seamless and without any loss of performance.


Ready for immediate use – intelligent startup sequence
After connecting and regulating the hydrogen supply, the electrical system is activated through a clearly structured startup sequence.

  • The startup is initiated via the battery power button on the front.
  • As soon as the RUN light blinks, the battery protection switch (green) is turned on – the system is ready for operation.
  • The inverter (F1) is activated, and the internal control system automatically engages.
  • A brief safety check is conducted; after confirmation through the red reset button, the system switches to normal operation.

This means the system is operational within minutes – safe, automated, and without complicated steps.


Emergency power activator – uninterrupted energy supply
The integrated UPS emergency mode ensures seamless energy supply during power outages or voltage fluctuations. When the system is connected to the public power grid (via the AC input type C19), the control automatically detects the power source:

  • In case of a power failure, the battery immediately takes over the supply.
  • If the battery falls below the defined charge state, the generator activates and powers both the system and the battery.
  • Once grid power is available again, the battery is automatically recharged.

Thus, the energy supply remains stable, secure, and fully automated – whether in the field, in the lab, or during mobile operations.


Safety concept with integrated protection logic
All circuits are controlled via a clearly labeled switching system:

  • F1: DC supply for the inverter
  • F2: Generator output
  • F3: 48→24-VDC converter
  • F4: Internal generator battery
  • F5: Control logic and monitoring circuits
  • F6: Fan supply
  • F7: AC input (grid supply)
  • F8: AC output (loads)


The internal control automatically detects reverse polarity, voltage spikes, or fault conditions, protecting the inverter and connected loads from damage.
