Peak Shaving means avoiding or reducing sudden high power demands for a short period of time. Instead of requiring an electricity grid, a connection, or a generator to suddenly deliver extreme power, these power peaks are “cut off” or smoothed out. The goal is to reduce costs, relieve the grids, and protect facilities. Simply put: it’s not the highest peak that counts, but the even flow.
Power connections and generators must be designed for maximum performance, even if this is only required rarely.
